The Hunchman 500
500km over 7 days from our family home to where our dad’s ashes are spread.
It's tough to put the week's events into words. The challenge itself was testing; running 250km over 5 days and then cycling back over 2 days was never going to be easy, but I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. It wasn’t just a challenge; it was a celebration for several different reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, this challenge was designed to remember Julian Smith, whom we lost to suicide 13 years ago. He is the reason this took place and ultimately the reason The Hunchman Trust exists. We were celebrating the launch of our new charity and held our first official fundraiser. Finally, we were celebrating all of the people we'll be able to positively impact by doing what we did and will continue to do. It was a pretty magical experience, and it's a period in time I will never forget. Thank you to everyone who has donated and thank you for everyone's ongoing support.
