Our Impact
As a grant-giving charity, we raise funds through various fundraising events while advocating for the benefits of physical challenges to overcome mental struggles. Collaborating with like-minded charities and organizations, every 6 months we aim to develop initiatives that provide a broad spectrum of support and guidance for young people navigating loss, ensuring that “no one feels left behind.”
We extend our deepest gratitude to all our generous donors. Your support is making a profound difference in the lives of young people facing unimaginable loss. Together, we are ensuring that no child feels alone in their grief. Thank you for supporting us and helping to keep the legacy of ‘Hunch’ alive.
Grant #2 - Suicide & Co
️We are thrilled to announce our second grant with Suicide&Co, marking a significant step forward in our mission to support individuals affected by loss. Suicide&Co is a UK-based charity dedicated to providing counselling and support to those bereaved by suicide, focusing on facilitating conversations and offering accessible resources to navigate the complexities of grief.
This collaboration aligns seamlessly with our commitment to ensuring that ‘no one feels left behind’ during their bereavement journey. We are joining forces with Suicide & Co. to redevelop their ‘Sidekick’ app to enhance efficiency and accessibility. As a ‘founding partner’ our grant allows the team at Suicide & Co to completely redevelop the app, expanding onto Android and creating a new CMS, making the service more effective, scalable, and inclusive.
Together, The Hunchman Trust and Suicide&Co are dedicated to creating a compassionate network for those navigating the aftermath of suicide, reinforcing the message that support is always available.

Grant #1 - Winstons Wish
Winston's Wish is the UK’s leading child bereavement charity, supporting children, teens, and young adults up to 25 who are grieving a loved one. Founded in 1992, they have helped hundreds of thousands find hope after loss. Their mission is to ensure no child grieves alone, offering services such as a free helpline, counseling, group sessions, and resources. Specializing in suicide bereavement, Winston's Wish provides tailored support to help young people navigate their grief and build resilience.
We are proud to announce that our first grant in June 2024 was in partnership with Winston's Wish, whose incredible work aligns with our mission to ensure that no young person faces grief alone. This grant was specifically allocated to support those impacted by suicide. The funds will enable Winston's Wish to provide tailored bereavement counseling, respond to over 700 inquiries, and offer one-on-one counseling to at least 30 young people, helping them understand their grief, manage difficult emotions, and build resilience for a hopeful future.
Maya’s Story
Maya was just 5 years old when her dad died by suicide. Struggling to cope, her family turned to Winston's Wish for support. They helped Maya and her brother navigate their grief, answering tough questions and providing a safe space to discuss their feelings. Group sessions connected them with other children who had experienced similar losses, alleviating their sense of isolation.
“Winston's Wish provided invaluable support, helping me process the complex emotions of losing a parent to suicide. Grief changes over time, and their ongoing support has made a huge difference in my life.” — Maya
