Our Story
About Us
The Hunchman Trust was born from a simple realisation: not everyone has what we had.
Vision
This is where it all began with love, loss, and the shared belief that no one should face grief alone.
In 2010, we lost ‘Hunch’ a father, a friend, and the biggest hug in the room to suicide. It was a moment that changed everything. But here’s what saved us: the environment we were surrounded by the family, the friends, the people who stood by us, held us up, and reminded us that love doesn’t disappear when someone’s gone.
Too many people are facing the unthinkable, feeling isolated without the support system that helped us survive. Our mission is to change that.
So, we built what we needed. A place where grief doesn’t have to be carried alone.

Mission
Our focus is simple: to support people who are grieving the loss of a loved one, with a specialised focus on those affected by suicide.
We’re a grant-giving charity that believes in the power of physical challenges to heal mental wounds. We partner with organisations who share our vision and fund initiatives that catch people before they fall. Because in Hunch’s memory, and for every person still fighting, we’re committed to making sure no one has to navigate grief alone.
This isn’t just our mission. It’s more than a cause. It’s a movement and it’s for all of us.
