The Hunchman Trust – Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in any fundraising challenge, event, or activity (collectively referred to as a “Challenge”) organised by The Hunchman Trust (“we”, “us”, “our”). By signing up for a Challenge, participants (“you”) agree to comply with these Terms in full.

 

2. Eligibility

To participate in a Challenge, you must:

Be aged 18 or over, or have parental/guardian consent if under 18.

Be medically and physically fit to take part.

Comply with all safety instructions and event-specific requirements.

Submit a completed and signed Participant Waiver Form before the Challenge date. Participation will not be permitted without a signed waiver.

 

3. Waiver Requirement

All participants are required to sign a waiver of liability before taking part in any Challenge. This waiver confirms that you understand the risks involved and release The Hunchman Trust, its trustees, employees, volunteers, and partners from any liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation.

The waiver must be submitted electronically or in physical form at least 48 hours before the Challenge start time, unless stated otherwise.

 

4. Personal Responsibility

You accept full responsibility for:

Ensuring your own health and safety throughout the Challenge.

Following all Challenge guidelines, safety rules, and instructions from organisers.

Any costs incurred through injury, travel, insurance, or equipment.

We recommend that you consult your GP before undertaking any physically demanding activity.

 

5. Insurance

The Hunchman Trust does not provide personal accident or medical insurance. You are advised to arrange your own insurance if necessary.

 

6. Fundraising

By participating in a Challenge, you agree to make reasonable efforts to meet any fundraising targets communicated to you. All funds raised must be transferred to The Hunchman Trust within 30 days of completing the Challenge.

 

7. Cancellation or Modification

We reserve the right to:

Cancel or reschedule any Challenge due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., extreme weather, safety concerns).

Modify the Challenge format, location, or details where necessary.

If a Challenge is cancelled, we will offer alternative dates or a refund of registration fees, where applicable.

 

8. Photography and Media

By taking part in a Challenge, you consent to being photographed or filmed. We may use such media for promotional, fundraising, or awareness purposes across our platforms and publications. If you do not wish to be featured, please notify us in writing prior to the event.

 

9. Data Protection

Your personal data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and used only for purposes related to your Challenge participation and The Hunchman Trust’s charitable activities. We will never share your data with third parties without your consent.

 

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, The Hunchman Trust accepts no liability for:

Any injury or loss resulting from your participation in a Challenge.

Any loss of personal belongings or equipment.

This does not affect your statutory rights.

 

11. Code of Conduct

Participants must behave respectfully toward all organisers, volunteers, fellow participants, and members of the public. We reserve the right to remove any participant from a Challenge for inappropriate or unsafe behaviour.

 

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
