RUN HUNCHMAN RUN

The Challenge Story

It's the third year of this event, and the numbers keep climbing.  56 people ran it last year.  This time, 84 signed up.  Same route, same distance: Weybridge to Fulham and back again, two marathons across two days, 52.4 miles in total.

Both days were hard going in the heat. By the final few miles, legs were gone and bodies had nothing left to give. That's just what two marathons back-to-back does to a person, no matter how much training goes in beforehand.  But, every one of the 84 crossed the finish line.

That's down to what was waiting for them along the way.  Volunteers and supporters turned checkpoints, and the route, into something closer to a street party: bringing noise, playing music, people who'd never met these runners before cheering like they were old friends.

Runners who were ready to stop kept going because someone stood there wouldn't let them.  Every finish got the same reception too, huge cheers, limbs everywhere, the full welcome home.

Two tough days, one outcome: everyone got there, and they got there together.

£200,382 raised so far and climbing.  Every pound goes to people working through grief that nobody hands you a manual for.

Whether you ran, volunteered, stood on the sidelines making noise, or chipped in from home: THANK YOU!
